Very efficient very attractive . Rice cooked very well.
But I could not find in the instruction book which came with it, that water will collect in top tray and then what to do with it and how to clean it. May be I missed it

Have had product now for a year and three months, having ordered it after reviewing a number of rice cooker reviews.

Cooks rice well and reliably. Easy cleanup. No mechanical problems thus far. Timed start works well.

It has folded itself into the mainstream of our cooking and seems to stay on the counter more than beneath it. We have no regrets so far with this machine.

Main beef is the instruction manual. It kinda stinks. Organization is confusing and, doctorate education notwithstanding, I found myself scratching my head a few times, wondering what was meant. Poor language translation is probably part of the problem.

Music tones are a little dorky, but we sing along anyway!

If you (really) like your rice, and you are patient, then this is the machine for you.

If you are looking to make quick meals, and don't really care what is on your plate, then stick with Uncle Ben.

There are two turn off's for the user that needs to watch the clock, and who needs something quick: the countdown timer doesn't kick in until the final 10 mins (or so); white rice takes about 45 mins to cook.

If there IS time for preperation, the timer function is great. After the rice is rinsed, per the instructions (which should actually be READ before use), you throw it in the bowl, add water to the proper level, and set it for the time it should be ready to use. Of course, if the computer can figure out the exact "end time", why can't it give a rough "countdown time"? But, what are you going to do?

The rice will also last for 4 or 5 hours without getting gross in "warming mode".

Conclusion: Being someone that uses the machine about 4 times a week, it works great for me, and I would buy another one if the current unit fell off the counter, and broke! I have also found that the family will grab a bowl of warm rice, rather than heading for the potato chips.

If you plan on cooking rice once every few months, you might want to check out the $40 units without all the computer control.
